Description

European Officer's Leather Map & Document Case — German Pattern, WWI–WWII EraOriginal period officer's map case in heavy vegetable-tanned brown leather, portfolio format with a full-length front flap — the early German pattern that predates the wartime M35 Kartentasche.Features:- Full front flap secured by a long leather strap with metal tip, running   through two nickel-plated slotted keeper plates and a frame buckle- Under the flap: four pencil loops, a compass pocket with scalloped   stud-fastened flap, and an open slip pocket for protractor or erasers- Roomy main compartment for maps and documents- Original narrow shoulder strap included- Riveted stress points, solid saddle stitching throughoutCondition: honest, field-used and untouched. The leather is strong and supple, all loops and pockets are intact, the closure works as intended. Old dark paint staining on the flap and scattered scuffs — wear consistent with actual service use, not storage. No repairs, no restoration. No visible maker's marks. The construction and hardware follow the German pattern of the WWI–interwar period; near-identical cases were also produced in several Central European armies between the wars, so it is offered as "German pattern" rather than with an invented attribution.A display-ready piece of European field gear — equally at home in a militaria collection or in actual use as a rugged vintage map case. This item is offered exclusively for historical and collectible purposes. Not intended for active use, field deployment, or defensive purposes.Legal Notice:Please verify whether the import of military equipment is legal in your country. The buyer is responsible for verifying local import regulations. The seller is not responsible for any customs duties, taxes, or other additional charges that may be levied in the recipient's country.
